My father used to take photos with an old analogue camera, the Minolta XD paired with a 50mm prime lens. Being 12 years old, I vividly remember the power with which this camera drew my attention. From time to time, he let me take a picture as well… Oh man, looking through the viewfinder, the manual focusing, the typical shutter sound and then the waiting game to see the result… All this made a strong impression on me. Unfortunately, my father became disabled due to a viral infection when I was 15 years old and stopped taking photos…

As a result, the camera was not used anymore and ended up somewhere at the back of a closet, tucked away between some books and other stuff. There, it patiently gathered dust for some years till I rediscovered it by accident. Promptly, I bought some analogue roll films and started shooting… and never stopped.

I love the beauty of lines, shapes and colours and how they interact with light.

Photography lets me look at things differently, teaches me to see the ‘unseen’ and makes me become more aware of my surroundings.
